The head of Senegal’s business union and the high advisor to the president will head a delegation that will arrive in Tehran tomorrow, according to the deputy official of the Iran and Africa Business Club.
Seyed Ruhollah Latifi, deputy official and spokesman of the Iran and Africa Business Club, explained about the Senegalese business delegation’s trip to Iran: A Senegalese delegation will meet with business and production organizations, managers of production units, and officials associated with trade and commerce in West Africa for ten days under the chairmanship of Mr. Sheikh Cisse, the President’s High Economic Advisor and head of this country’s trade union.
The Senegalese delegation will visit various companies at the Iran and Africa Business Club’s invitation, including automobile manufacturing, steel production, food production and export companies, fruit and vegetable production companies, textile and clothing factories, oil and gas companies, carpet manufacturers, knowledge-based products, and milk powder producers.
They will also negotiate with the provincial chambers of commerce, the country’s chamber of commerce, the country’s mining industry, and the national agricultural and food organizations.

About Senegal’s trade, he said: Senegal’s total trade in 2021 reached 15.7 billion dollars, of which the export of goods from this country was about 4.5 billion dollars, and the export of technical and engineering services was about 900 million dollars.
The main export goods of this country are oil,all types of fish, minerals and chemicals, stones and precious metals, and Mali, India and Switzerland were the first three destinations for the Senegal’s export.
He added: Senegal’s total import in 2021 was 10 billion and 300 million dollars, which 8 billion dollars of it include the goods and 2 billion and 300 million dollars are services, France, China, India, Russia and Nigeria were the top five suppliers for Senegal in 2021.
The trade between Iran and Senegal reached 3 million dollars in 2021, which 50% of it was vehicle and motorcycle and 17% of that it related to foodstuffs. Also, Iran imported about 370 thousand dollars from senegal in 2021.
Iran-Africa Business Club stated: One of the most important investment projects of Iran in Africa is the establishment of the Iran Khodro factory in Senegal under the name of “Seniran Auto”, which is currently semi-active due to the problem of electricity supply. It has been stated that during the visit of this delegation to Iran, in addition to strengthening trade relations, solving the current problems and obstacles in trade between the two countries will also be put on the agenda of business and economic activists along with the authorities of the two countries.
