High-ranking officials of Iran and Kenya signed 5 cooperation documents in the presence of the presidents of the two countries. The president of our country stated that Iran and Kenya have many capacities for cooperation, which attention can help to improve the relations between the two countries, and said: The economic development of the two countries has been targeted to 10 times the current level.
The president, who had gone to the African Continent with the aim of improving the level of relations with friendly and aligned countries, diversifying export destinations and laying the groundwork for strengthening political and economic cooperation. In the first destination of his regional trip to the African continent, he arrived in Nairobi and was welcomed by the President of Kenya.
After a few hours, the ceremony of signing documents and memorandums of cooperation between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Kenya was held and the officials of the two countries signed 5 cooperation documents.
These cooperation documents were in the fields of veterinary medicine, communication, culture, fisheries and professional technology. They were signed by the ministries of “Foreign Affairs”, “Information, Communication and Digital Economy”, “Tourism, Wildlife and Heritage”, “Mining, Water Economy and Sea Affairs”, “Education of Kenya”. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Labor and Social Welfare of the Islamic Republic of Iran were signed in the presence of the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Seyed Ebrahim Raisi and the President of Kenya William Ruto.
Seyed Ebrahim Raisi” said on Wednesday morning after the negotiations of the Iran-Kenya delegations at the Kenyan presidential palace and the signing of five cooperation documents between the two countries in a joint press conference with Kenyan President William Ruto. We warmly shake the hands of all the governments of the African continent and we believe that these relations can develop day by day between the two captive nations of Iran and Kenya.
The president added: The continent of Africa is the continent of capacities. Iran’s view of Africa is that of countries with capacity, talent, natural and mineral resources. We also have many capacities. The exchange of these capacities can contribute to the promotion of the two countries.
He added: Thanks to the Islamic Revolution and the leadership’s guidelines, Iran has been able to withstand sanctions and threats and make progress in various scientific, technological and economic fields.
Raisi added: Today, we have experiences in the field of petrochemicals, agriculture, science and technology, which are important areas of cooperation between us in the field of medicine and medical equipment. We can also have good cooperation with Kenya in the field of fisheries.
Stating that we believe that our cooperation will not be specific to two countries, Raisi clarified: Just like Islamic Iran has cooperation with the countries of the Persian Gulf and Central Asia. Kenya also has a relationship with East African countries and the relationship between the two countries will provide the basis for these cooperation.
The President continued: This trip, which is a milestone in our relations, can create a good market for Iranian products in Kenya and East Africa. In the exchanges and conversations we had with the president of Kenya, the presidents of the two countries should provide the basis for the development of bilateral relations.
Raisi noted: Our common position in the field of fighting against drugs is an area where we can have cooperation. We do not see any obstacles to the development of relations. This can help in expanding and developing relationships
While appreciating the welcome of the Kenyan government and people, he said: “Soon we will be able to host the President of Kenya in Tehran and I hope we will witness the increasing development of relations with Kenya and we hope that the relationship will develop to an acceptable level.”
In a speech expressing his gratitude for the hospitality of the government and people of Kenya, he expressed hope that we will witness the further development of the relations between Tehran and Nairobi.
